Sharing Pics of Kitchen/Laundry Remodel

It is time for me to come out of the closet as a silent lurker and share photos of our recent remodel. I have learned so much on this forum and I only hope that I can be of help to others now.

Wow! What a difference! I bet you love your new ceiling...feels so much taller. What are your cabinets made out of?

Thanks for the compliments everyone! We really feel that the kitchen seems bigger and more open since we raised part of the ceiling and eliminated the peninsula and its overhead cabinets. The overall design is much more functional too. I did forget to post the details.

Cabinets are natural hickory made by a local cabinet maker.

Countertops are Cambria quartz in Oxford.

Flooring is Mohawk laminate in Potomac Cherry.

Side by side frig is a Sub-Zero 685.

Microwave oven combo is Kitchenaid convection.

Dishwasher is Asko.

Trash compactor is Kitchenaid.

Gas cooktop and downdraft vent are Viking.

Sink is Blanco Silgranit in anthracite with a Blanco faucet.

Wow that is a transformation. I love the ceiling and light fixtures and how open the room looks. The details you picked - the color, fixtures, raising part of the ceiling looks so good together and at the same time it is a unique look that you don't see every day. I love it.

Beautiful cabinets and I really like the ceiling. I'll bet you're in heaven.

Thank you minac and quiltnhen! When we originally built our home the contractor talked us into that dropped 7 ft. ceiling with the built-in flouresent light fixture. When we remodeled we wanted to raise the entire ceiling, but couldn't because of duct work. Instead we created the tray ceiling over the island and installed pendant lights. It made such a HUGE difference and we love the look! The pendants don't put out as much light as the old fixture, but we also added additional recessed lighting around the perimeter.
