  • Medallion cabinets (Potter's Mill) in cashew and brandywine maple
  • Berenson American Mission pull in antique pewter
  • Atlas Homeware's "Tuscany" knobs
  • Bosch 36" cooktop NGP936
  • KA convection wall oven KEBC107K
  • Bosch dishwasher SHU3322
  • KA vent hood 36"
  • Soapstone counters (German Greenstone)
  • Butcher block counters (I think birch) from Ikea
  • Bamboo flooring
  • Minka Aire ceiling fan
  • Decorative tiles by Red Oak Studios
  • spice cabinet
  • Knife Slot
  • Telephone Center
  • Pantry
  • Sink Peninsula

My kitchen is comfortable and homey and we used provencale colors of yellow, red, green, and blue. We used bamboo flooring, two colors of cabinetry, and soapstone. We tore down a two-car garage and took half the space to extend the kitchen. We got more light, room for several cooks at once, a walk-in pantry and a large table (it's new and not in the photos) so we can have ten for dinner in the kitchen.

Good Morning to all of you! I am a new "poster," but definitely NOT a new "reader." I was waiting (and waiting) to be completely finished, but don't know if that will ever happen, so here I am. It's so nice to join you and I am totally addicted to this kitchen forum. Like all of you, I found it extremely helpful when redoing our kitchen (I will try to post pictures--IF I can figure it out--not a computer wiz). I definitely feel the "WOW" factor with my new kitchen and also posted this in the "WOW" question. Which I could show you BEFORE pics--really dark and gloomy. Very happy now! Hopefully this link will work although I wish it had ALL trim, etc. finished.

Editor's note: the details below were copied from kat's website:

-General footprint remained the same, as did the stove, refrigerator, dishwasher (all only a few years old). We will change the floors later (thinking maybe cork).
-Kitchen project was Kath's so she designed EVERYTHING down to the last little detail. Contracting, research, and purchases was all her. Contracted out cabinets, taping, counters, and painting. All of the rest was done by Rob (consulting, demolition, window, electric, sheetrock, cabinet installation, plumbing, lighting, trim).
-Cabinets, island, hoosier/cabinet, and dishwasher panel are made from summer maple, and have a raised panel, alpine edge, full overlay, with an "ice" stain (custom made by our friend Brian Blackburn, in Wappingers Falls, NY).
- Hoosier is Kath's own design with a darker oak stained top (it has a top cabinet, pull out shelf, drawer, and big pullout drawer to hold breadmachine. Sides open to hold trays and platters).
- Island was an island Kath saw on Home Depot's "design site" and had it made from the tiny picture. It has a garbage and recycling pullout (attached to door), two pots and pan pullout drawers with dividers for cookie trays, etc., and three regular smaller drawers for cuttlery, etc.
-Crown molding with lacey scallop trim below and decorative applique above sink (friend, Brian Blackburn).
-Corian counters with double beveled edge (Sequoia).
-Kenmore over the range microwave.
-Concinnity faucet, sprayer, and soap dispenser--Mount Vernon in Satin Nickel (Homeclick.com) delivered within two weeks.
-Blanco double stainless steel sink 511-577 (Homeclick.com) ordered on a Monday, arrived one day later, late morning-Wow!
-Anderson window, double casement.
-Emerson ceiling fan is a 42" Traditional Snugger CF704SWW (Summer White Housing with
Summer White / Bleached Oak Blades) with handmade Piastra glass from Italy (G302).
-Seagull lighting (three puck lights over sink and under cabinet lights).
-English Sussex stools from Williams-Sonoma (http://ww2.williams-sonoma.com/index.cfm?sid=WSE03XQXL9OBHXIVKIAT8SHB0TQHOT9Y200302061225&ftest=1&flash=on).
-Top Knobs Britannia Empress knobs (M11), Antique Copper ( MyKnobs.com). Four knobs needed replacing (very slightly discolored) and in two days received note from MyKnobs that Top Knobs would be sending those right out and they did not ask for me to return the four discolored knobs (which I could have easily used if I had to). Received within a week.
-Top Knobs Somerset Collection--5 pulls. Also quick delivery.
-Blum drawerslides on bottom of drawers (dovetail drawers).
-European hidden hinges.

Modern silver/grey kitchen.
Thomasville doors, Jennaire range, aluminum tile backsplash, bi-level island, concrete counters, undermount sink, almost entirely DIY.
