Jen, Wow! What a transformation. Your cabinets are just gorgeous! I love love the backsplash. You must be so pleased. Now tell me about the jars above your refrigerator? Enjoy :) |

It's hard to believe the two are the same room. The remodeled kitchen is gorgeous (can't say as much for the old one!!). I love the cabinets facing the dining area. |

Probably one of the most dramatic transformations I've seen. Absolutely beautiful! |

So funny that you noticed that detail...When we received our fridge there was a gap between the top of it and the cabinets. The contractor suggested this pigeonhold cabinet. I know most people put wine in the holes but we keep our wine in a separate wine fridge so I had to get creative. These canisters are from Crate & Barrel and they hold dry goods (brown rice, pasta, breadcrumbs...) and with the see through top it has added an interesting design element. Plus it gave me back counter space. |

What a lucky "accident" - it really is a design element! Great solution...now I wish I had a gap...lol!!!! |

This is really beautiful! Just a super job of selecting everything. You must be so thrilled to be done and to have such a beautiful result. Congratulations! |

I've had regrets about getting a stand alone stove. I couldn't figure out how to do the backsplash. I LOVE the trim that goes across the top of yours! Great solution, hope you never come to my house and see that I copied it straight across. |

Copy ahead! Nothing would make us happier. If you are in NYC and want some thoughts about contractors we were very happy with ours - Knockout Renovations. |

The kitchen is STUNNING. I am in love with the backsplash as well...and I'm in Queens, so I will take your recommendation and call Knockout Renovations...did they do everything from top to bottom??? Did you do anything else besides the kitchen?? Congratulations! |

I meant to add in that we also used magnetic paint on one of the walls (and then put on the color) and we love this unique feature. I didn't realize how annoying it would be to not have a magnetic fridge. |

JensK, love the look of a city windowless compact kitchen. What a great transformation from the old (just love that one ceiling light before!!). Which specific magnetic paint did you use and have you found that it works well? I'm thinking about a wall in dh's office. |
